Shopping Centres and their offerings in Sandton Central

Shopping Centres and their offerings in Sandton Central, tips & tricks, safety in terms of pins, quick scan etc.

We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again, there’s nowhere better to shop than Sandton Central. In fact, our views on the subject are pretty well documented. You know that there’s something for everyone – which is why you can usually find everyone right within our welcoming halls.

But it’s one thing to claim how awesome we are, it’s another thing entirely to be able to back it up. So this month we’re doing something a little bit different…

Before we begin, we know that most ladies were probably sorted ages ago. Guys, we know you leave things until the last minute, so we’re doing this for you. On your marks, get set, now let’s go!

Hair, skin and everything in between:
No guy likes to admit it, but we enjoy a bit of pampering as much as anyone else. Anyone who knows men’s style is all too aware of the importance of grooming – especially in today’s day and age.

In the early 2000s, you could have pulled off a shaggy shaggy-haired punk rock look and called it “bed head”. Today, however, it’s all about sleek lines, fresh fades and that neat, sculpted look. Plus, let’s be honest, nothing compares to the feeling of having the perfect hairdo – it almost makes the suit and shirt secondary. So, when it comes to this, you know you’re sorted as both Paul Mitchell and Sorbet Man would be our top picks. Make sure to come in with a booking and an idea of what you’re going for – we doubt even Beckham goes in unprepared. If you’re rocking a beard, which you should be, get it neatened, shaped and nicely defined for that perfect gentlemanly finishing touch.

Suits, shirts and trousers:
Now, this is what it’s all about. If your perfect look was a burger, this would be the double patty that wins awards and keeps them coming back. Whether or not you’re a regular at fancy events, a well-fitted suit is a must have for any guys wardrobe – you never know when a special occasion might come up. Or, if you’re on a bit of a budget, there’s nothing wrong with a pair of slick chinos and the perfect formal shirt. For the latter, there are guaranteed winners in the form of Ben Sherman, Aeronautica, Burberry and Calvin Klein. For the former, nobody does suits like the Italians, which is why Billionaire Italian Couture exists to REALLY steal the show. Alternately, take a look at Diesel, Fabiani, Armani or Dolce – if turning heads is your focus, you know they’ve got you covered. Full disclosure: you may want to carry a warning label, because you’re guaranteed to cause a fair bit of whiplash.

Shoes, belts and all the fine details:
No good look is complete without the perfect set of formal shoes, just as the cherry on top. We’d suggest something in leather, as they’re durable, breathable and will last forever. Most importantly, however, they look absolutely amazing. Remember to always colour coordinate your accessories – belt and shoes, tie and pocket square, jacket and trousers (but that can be tampered with, if you’re confident enough to pull it off). So, what do we put on those feet? Start at Aldo and, if you’re having no luck, make your way to Palladium. Salvatore Ferragamo is an almost given, as are Roberto Botticelli and Steve Madden. The most important thing is to know the look you’re going for and own it- even sneakers can be pulled off if you’re able to do it right. Make your outfit go from whoa to WOW with a time-stopping piece from World’s Finest Watches, or a statement tie and pocket square, and you’re pretty much sorted.

So there you have it – Decide on your look, be certain of your purchase, wear it with a smile and know that confidence is what makes or breaks a look. It’s not what you wear, it’s how you wear it, and at Sandton Central, you can wear anything your heart desires.
