Here are seven of the most popular city services and amenities that can be found in Sandton Central:

1. CITY OF JOHANNESBURG REGIONAL OFFICES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTRE
137 Daisy Street (Corner Grayston Drive)
Open: 7.30am to 4pm
This regional office supports the implementation of the city’s service delivery in the region.
Its Customer Service Centre offers the following services and facilities
• Accounts payments
• Accounts enquiries
• Apply for special cases
• Credit control arrangements
• Customer education on understanding statements
• Full and final settlement of accounts
• Lodge a customer query
• Lodge a credit control query
• Meter investigation requests
• Obtain information on accounts
• Reconnection request of services after cut-off

• Remissions on accounts for senior citizens
• Termination of services by owners
• New connections electricity, water and sewer

2. SANDTON LIBRARY

1st Wednesday of every month: 1pm to 6pm

This state-of-the-art library offers free internet access, a dozen computers, a collection of over 92,000 books as well as audio books, videos, music CDs, language tapes, the local daily and weekly newspapers, periodicals and the Provincial and Government Gazettes. It has spate sections for children, adults, reference and study, and seating for almost 200. The Sandton Library is open to all members of the community. Membership is required should you wish to borrow material. To join, take along a copy of your ID and proof of residency and fill out a form at the Sandton Library. There is an annual fee of R48. The library hosts a children’s story hour every Saturday at 10am. It also hosts chess sessions at the same time.

3. JOBURG TOURISM

Joburg Tourism is a destination marketing organisation, dedicated to promoting tourism growth in the city. Its primary function is to promote Johannesburg as a business, lifestyle, sport and leisure destination, both locally and internationally. Its operations include running a Convention Bureau, a Visitor Services Bureau, as well as co-ordinating city-wide tourism marketing programmes, tourism information gathering and analysis. It has all the need-to-know information about the city of Johannesburg to make every visit as enjoyable as possible. It provides guidelines on getting around Johannesburg and the rest of South Africa

4. PARKS
Mushroom Farm Park, also called Hyundai Sky Park
Daisy Street, just off Rivonia Road

Mushroom Farm Park, renamed Hyundai Sky Park, boasts a fully equipped playground for the kids, a duck pond, amphitheatre, hilly landscaped lawns and an outdoor gym. Popular with families for weekend picnics, the giant Hyundai branded hot air balloon, which rises 120m above the park, offers visitors an incredible view of Sandton, weather permitting. Dog walkers are also welcome to this park provided that their pooches are on a leash, and the neatly paved walkways are perfect for strollers or joggers. There are also tables, benches and clean public toilets available.

Sandton Central Park
145 Sandton Drive
A small, intimate park located in the heart of the financial district, Sandton Central Park offers a blank canvas, perfect for planning niche events. The park occasionally hosts live music day festivals as well as other events and offers an amphitheatre, sculptured garden beds, indigenous tress, solar powered lights and benches to sit on.

5. SANDOWN CLINIC
Corner Maude and West streets
Open: Monday to Friday, 8am to 3.30pm

The clinic offers curative (adult and paediatric), immunisation, family planning, STD and TB services.
