Tips to setting your New Year Resolutions

Yes, it’s that time of year again. The time of year we feel the urge to turn over a new leaf. New Year resolutions are ideal to achieving your set goals but where do you even start?!

We have listed some easy-to-follow steps to setting and attaining your resolutions for the year ahead!

1. Pick one goal
Be realistic and pick one goal. One that you know is less likely to fail. That way, it will be easy to achieve, and you can be super proud of yourself at the end of 2018!

2. Set a time frame
Experts note that it is easier to attain a goal if you have placed a deadline on it. So set a realistic time frame or date to your goal and work towards it. The sooner you start the more chances of success.

3. Anticipate failure
If you fail while on the journey of your gaol, worry not! It is not the falling that matters, but getting up. So get up and keep going if you miss your deadline or there are unforeseen hiccups along the way. Also, remember perseverance is the key to success. Try again, keep trying and you will succeed.

4. Plan rewards
Nothing feels better then rewarding yourself! So pre-plan small rewards: little spa dates or shopping sprees to celebrate achieved milestones during the year. Also, a little reward is great encouragement to keep you going.

5. Remember to live
As the saying goes: You only live once! Among your resolutions, let 2018 be a year of living life to the fullest, taking up dance or music or sports classes, trying new foods and exploring as much as you can! Don’t be too hard on yourself and aim to be a better you at the end of 2018.
