WWF Gala Dinner to celebrate 50 years at the Hilton Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg
04 July 2018
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) will host a fund raising gala dinner to celebrate 50 years in South Africa, at the Hilton Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg on Saturday 28 July 2018 with performances by the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra.
WWF South Africa will share their vision to 2068, explorer Riaan Manser will recount his global adventures, and black tie guests will be given the opportunity to bid for life-defining experiences of their own. These include accompanying WWF South Africa teams on a black rhino notching expedition, and a trip to Cape Town to paddle with Riaan Manser in the marine protected area of Simon’s Town.
The auction will also include an experience with Eagle Encounters and Cheetah Outreach at Hidden Valley in Stellenbosch and a “green food” experience, created in conjunction with celebrity Chef Bertus Basson at Overture Restaurant followed by a night’s stay at Boschendal Wine Estate.
“The experiences up for auction will provide our funders with once in a lifetime adventures that and allow them to reconnect with nature,” says WWF South Africa CEO Morné du Plessis. “As a human collective we can positively impact the Earth to build an equitable future in which both people and nature thrive. We are taking action, and call on all to join us at the gala dinner.”
