THE JOBURG TOURISM JAZZY JOBURG MARKET IS BACK WITH A BANG - THE OFFICIAL MARKETPLACE TO SA’S PREMIER JAZZ FESTIVAL! #Welcome2Jozi

The 2023 Standard Bank Joy of Jazz returns with the promise of exhilarating experiences for music lovers to Feel the Jazz, Everywhere!

The music is not only back and exciting but the experience gets even better with the Jazzy Joburg Market - an initiative in partnership with the Joburg Tourism Company, supporting local businesses. Various SMMEs and creatives get to showcase their work at the market which runs from Friday the 29th to Saturday the 30th September 2023 at the Sandton Convention Centre, leading up to the main festival.

The Market will be officially opened by the Department of Economic Development’s MMC, Councillor Nomoya Mnisi, as well as the City Manager Mr Floyd Brink.

The Market is not new to the establishment, it was previously hosted at the Nelson Mandela Square and known for its commitment to celebrating up-and-coming artists. The market has seen the likes of Zano, Dudu Makhoba, Vuyo Tyholo and many others share the stage while locals and internationals get to enjoy our local cuisine and buy the finest garments and jewellery from our local designers and crafters.

This year is no different, festival-goers get to experience an even elevated experience of good music, food and fashion.

The jazzy night market will be taking place concurrently with the festival and will house the MarketPlace stage. This will feature the “Lounge Jazz”, where the slick sonic selectors on the decks, DJ HAPPY J as well as Di Castro, along with the inimitable maestro DJ KENZHERO EXPERIENCE, featuring Melo B Jones on vocals and Drum Machine and Me-Ko on Keys and Trumpet, will be performing live at the Jazzy Joburg Market.

Africa’s premier jazz festival takes place on 29 and 30th September 2023 at the
Sandton International Convention Centre, with an exciting line-up of headlining jazz
stars from across the world.

The main festival will see the likes of Marcus Wyatt, Robert Glasper, Nduduzo Makhathini, Herbie Tsoaeli, Andrea Vollenweider, Billy Monama and more share the stage over two fun-filled nights.

EDITORS NOTES
The Market is free to those who have bought festival tickets.
