The SBID (Sandton Business Improvement District), SCMD (Sandton City Management District), and the WVMD’s (Wierda Valley Management District) primary goal is to ensure the safety and security of the Sandton community.
Servest is in the privileged position to fulfill this roll, as a specialist security service provider in the abovementioned districts with dedicated vehicles, public safety ambassadors, and 24/7 control room services for operational support, information gathering, and public liaising services in the event of complaints or incidents at our disposal.
Dedicated security management work closely with the SAPS, security companies, and forums in these areas to ensure that visible security and policing take place and that ample response is available within the public space to prevent crime and ensure your safety.
In our ongoing strive to keep all patrons and tenants of the area informed and safe, please take note of the following threats/trends, which have been problematic in the aforesaid areas:
• Follow-home robberies – It is suspected that spotters are found prowling around shopping centres and
public spaces to identify possible victims. Do not approach any of these suspicious persons, rather
immediately report them to your nearest security or SAPS official.
• Theft out of motor vehicles and so-called ‘smash-and-grab’ incidents continue, and people are
advised to not leave any valuable items such as handbags, laptops etc. exposed and visible inside
vehicles at any time. Always be vigilant and never be distracted or pre-occupied around slowmoving
traffic or intersections.
