Sandton Central Newsletter - July 2021
19 July 2021

We applaud all our people, corporate citizens, organisations and community groups who have raised their hands and stepped forward in the spirit of ubuntu in response to the civil unrest in the country.

So many have stood firm against senseless violence and destruction and found common purpose, pride and dignity in working together, overcoming together and rising together. It is heart-warming to witness the incredible resilience and care of ordinary people who have taken it upon themselves to clean up and start building back.

Sadly, it isn’t only buildings and belongings that were damaged. Lives and livelihoods have been devastated too. Widespread destruction and looting in Alex have led to greater hardship, unemployment and loss of income for many ordinary citizens and vulnerable families who will face hunger and cold this wintertime.

Together, we can help to rebuild lives by sharing nourishment and warmth this winter.

Donations of blankets, winter clothes, non-perishable food, hot-water bottles and any other such goods can be dropped off at the Sandton Central Tourism Kiosk, outside the Sandton Gautrain Station.

Donations go directly to Rays of Hope #WarmUpAlex, which will distribute them to those in most need through its network of community organisations across Alex.

Do you have a story everyone should know about? We want to share it. Send it to Mahlatse@marketingconcepts.co.za.

Be kind and stay safe
