Sandton Central Newsletter - July 2020
15 July 2020
Caring for each other is the foundation of community, and it’s also vital for coming through the COVID-19 pandemic. Case numbers seem to be spiking, and we have been cautioned that the peak is rapidly approaching. More than ever, it is up to each one of us to do our bit, be safe and mindful of others and protect the vulnerable.
To support health-minded practices, Sandton Central has identified seven actions that we can all take to support the health of one another and our communities in public spaces during the different levels of lockdown. The first is to follow regulations and recommendations, and we can’t stress the importance of doing this enough. Should you need to know more about what this entails, and access support, our dedicated COVID-19 resource page is designed to help you.
Those of you who live in Sandton Central, or who are back at work in the area, may have seen our new logo making a proud appearance around the neighbourood and our mini-billboards carrying a gentle reminder for everyone to keep a safe distance. We’re thrilled to add even more colour and care to our district.
We are not alone in our efforts to create a brighter today and tomorrow; Sandton City and SA Fashion Week have partnered to #CreateTomorrow for local designers, and you can read more about this exciting initiative below.
July is Mandela Month, reminding us that if we embody Tata Madiba’s humbling example, our world will be a better place. Mandela Day on 18 July is all about celebrating his life and his legacy by doing our bit to change the world for the better and, this year, finding ways to do this safely. We encourage you to take action to inspire change by supporting the causes you care about, assisting a charity or community group, or seizing this opportunity to partner with Rays of Hope and its Alex-based network of NGO’s to spread hope in Alexandra.
Many of us are feeling disconnected as a result of the lockdown, making this the perfect time to connect with a dose of personal growth. Sandton Central is curating a compelling collection of the most stimulating, fascinating and inspiring webinars and podcasts available on our website and social media platforms, to inform and motivate you in all areas of life. Is there a webinar we should know about? Tell us about it and we’ll share it. Send your news to mahlatse@marektingconcepts.co.za. You can also sign up for our free newsletter to learn more and stay connected.
Stay safe,
