Sandton Central Newsletter - April 2020
08 April 2020

As we stay at home for the love of each other, to protect the vulnerable and in support of our Government’s efforts to flatten the COVID-19 curve, this month Sandton Central is bringing its unique energy straight to you, wherever you may be. We miss you, but our Men in Red are looking after our neighbourhood and keeping it safe and clean to welcome you back when the time is right.

We thank our Men in Red, and every single essential worker out there and supporting us on the frontline during this challenging time. We salute you!

It is heart-warming to see the spirit of innovation and goodwill that has prevailed in response to COVID-19. We are proud to be the home of many people, businesses and organisations that are helping the Sandton Central community, and all South Africans, to stay at home by looking after our physical and mental health.

Sandton Central-based Sasol is producing alcohol for hand sanitisers and disinfectants and is sharing its online education resources free. The Capital has geared up to be a safe home-away-from-home offering sanitised sanctuaries at its Sandton Central hotels. Locally headquartered Discovery has launched the Vitality Home-Workout channel with free daily workouts, yoga, fitness and more for the whole family. It has also teamed up with Vodacom to develop a free healthcare platform with tools to assess your Covid-19 risk, schedule virtual consultations with healthcare professionals, and more. Part of the greater Sandton community, Africa’s largest mental health support and advocacy group SADAG has put together a free online toolkit for mental health and COVID-19. We applaud you all!

These are only a few examples of wonderful people choosing to do amazing things. As South Africa’s financial capital, we also acknowledge everyone keeping our financial services operating. Shopping is a big part of our district, and Sandton City, The Marc and others have gone extraordinary lengths to ensure your safety and well-being when you access essential goods and services. To our many medical and healthcare facilities which are pivotal in providing care, thank you.

In this spirit, we would like to share even more inspiration on our popular social media channels. Send your community, innovation and goodwill projects and stories to mahlatse@marketingconcepts.co.za. We’ll give them a shout-out and continue to help inspire our community and our country to do this, together. We’ve got this Sandton Central.

Stay safe. Stay home. Stay positive.
